  • Beef Burgers
Serves: 4
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 675g beef sirloin or braising steak cut into long thin strips
  • 1 tbsp chopped mixed fresh herbs, e.g. parsley, thyme and basil
  • Juice and grated rind of ½ lemon
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Flour, for dusting
  • Vegetable oil, for cooking

Equipment

  • Kenwood Chef with Meat Grinder attachment and K Beater

Method

  1. If mincing your own meat, fit the Meat Grinder attachment with the coarse screen, and attach to the slow speed outlet on the front of your Kenwood Chef.  Mince the beef into the Kenwood Bowl.  For a finer texture, pass through the screen again.  If you already have your beef minced, go to (2).
  2. Add the herbs, lemon juice and rind and a generous sprinkling of freshly ground black pepper to the bowl.  Fit the bowl onto the Chef.  Using the K Beater at minimum speed, Mix the ingredients together.
  3. Divide into 4 and with floured hands shape into thick burgers.  Either brush with oil and place under a preheated grill for about 4 minutes on each side, or shallow fry over a medium heat.
  4. Serve the burgers accompanied with toasted crusty bread and mixed salad leaves.

Variations:

Replace 675g sirloin or braising steak with 675g good quality mince.
